MapSurvey 3D Desktop

Some organisations do not want their site survey data held in a cloud service: factories, defence and energy facilities, public bodies with confidentiality rules. MapSurvey 3D Desktop runs the complete portal on your own computer. 3D models, LiDAR scans, orthophotos, BIM and Gaussian Splatting scenes, measurement and analysis tools are the same as in the portal; the only difference is that the data stays on your computer.

We carry out and process the survey. We deliver the data to you as a data package signed by MapSurvey; the package only opens with your organisation’s licence and is added to the software in a single step. When we survey again, we send a new package, and the timeline and comparison work just as in the portal.

How we work

1. Survey. We capture your site with drone, LiDAR and GNSS.
2. Processing. We process the data into 3D models, point clouds, orthophotos or BIM.
3. Installation. We install the software on your computer; no administrator rights are required.
4. Licence. When the software starts, you sign in with your MapSurvey account. Internet is only needed for this step; the software runs offline for up to 7 days.
5. Delivery. Your surveys are added to the software as a signed data package.

Licence and installation

The licence is issued to your organisation; you decide how many computers the software is used on, and each person signs in with their own account. Installation on a server in your company network with access from shared computers is available on request. Contact us for details and a quote.
